A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST
This photo was taken in December of 2019 at the North Fork American River, while hiking the Lake Clementine Trail with one of my favorite hiking buddies. As we hiked along the trail I was telling her about my ideas for my newest photo collection, 'Serenity Amidst the Chaos'.
I mentioned that I was having trouble finding the proper subject, and wouldn't you know it...shortly after I spoke the words, we came upon this section of river. I quickly got out my tripod and camera to capture the perfect balance between serenity and chaos in this scene.
It contained the perfect stillness of the upstream portion of the river to represent serenity, and the white water representing the chaos where the water flowed over the curved dam of river rocks. Ask and it is given!

I created this piece as a solution to one of my most obnoxious problems, a messy bathroom. I prefer to keep my bathroom clean, but the amount of jewelry I have makes it difficult. I've had many jewelry boxes over the years, but none that really satisfied my needs. I love that I don't have to look at the clutter of all my jewelry, it's not taking up space on my counter, and the photograph provides a serene feeling as I get ready every morning.
