Atthis Longwing Butterfly
A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST
This photo was taken in June of 2019 at the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster Colorado. I love to photograph butterflies because they represent the enormous changes that women undergo when they transition into motherhood.
Similar to that of a caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly, it might seem like a long and arduous process; however, if we allow our children to be our greatest teachers, we'll finally emerge as exactly who we're meant to be in this lifetime. After experiencing just such a transformation, this concept is near and dear to my heart as well as a very significant part of my work.
The Atthis Longwing butterfly (Heliconius Atthis) is endemic to western Ecuador and mimics a Zebra Longwing.

Handmade functional art that does double duty! On the outside this looks like a beautiful piece of art floating in a modern rustic farm house style frame. On the inside, it's hidden storage for anything you'd like. It's shown here with hooks for jewelry*, but it could be used for holding other items like keys, mail, etc. Please email me at info@WhatYouSeekIsWithin.com if you'd like other options.
I created this piece as a solution to one of my most obnoxious problems, a messy bathroom. I prefer to keep my bathroom clean, but the amount of jewelry I have makes it difficult. I've had many jewelry boxes over the years, but none that really satisfied my needs. I love that I don't have to look at the clutter of all my jewelry, it's not taking up space on my counter, and the photograph provides a serene feeling as I get ready every morning.
